I was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 20, 1945. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1971 before moving onto St. John's University School of Law, where I graduated in 1975. In the following year, I was admitted to the New York, Nevada, and U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. I was admitted to the U.S. tax court in 1979, the U.S. Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit in 1980, and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1981.
As a member of the State Bar of Nevada, I served as a member of the Medical-Legal Screening Panel from 1979 to 1981. From 1982 to 1989, I served on the Fee Dispute Committee. As of now, I'm a member of the Nevada State Bar Association. The Nevada State Bar Association is a non-profit, voluntary member organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
